A beautiful morning for a ride.

On Saturday, I had a softball clinic to take part in and I decided to ride my 1X1 to school.

How long will it take? I know, I can get to Bros house in about 10-12 minutes under the best of circumstances, well, no one would classify Saturday morning as the best of circumstances.

A balmy 8 degrees when I stepped out the door. The trail between my house and Bros house had its share of clear pavement, ice, slush, you name it. Once I got to Cedar lake road, it was pretty much clear pedaling. Somehow I manged to make it to North Junior High in about 25 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised at what good time I made.

After softball, I wanted to take a different route home, so, I rode to Cty Rd. 17 and headed south to Minnetonka Blvd. West to County Rd. 61 and got on the limestone path that runs into downtown Hopkins. Dude! Was it ever sloppy, at least at that first intersection. The path was in quite good condition in my opinion. There were spots that were a bit wet due to melting but, for the most part, it was good riding except at the intersections where there had been some salt or other chemicals applied to melt the ice.

All-in-all it was a satisfying 14 mile day in the saddle, not bad for Feb. 27!
